Three young boys in welch grape colored school unniforms pose for a photo. They boys attend Anani Memorial International School in Nima, one of the poorest slums on the outskirts of Accra.

On the banks of Lake Bosomtwe four children listened to their younger brother or friend while opening some snacks. The community watched in curiosity as we floated on the lake in the small blue and white striped boat.

Elaborate and decorative handmade kente cloth was hung up on all four walls of a small hut where Ghanaians hand wove thread into cloth.

After a boat ride on Lake Bosomtwe in the Ashanti region two young boys in charge of the boat's maintenance brought us to dock back along the shore. Said to have been created by a meteorite, it is home to tilapia which I have found to be one of the most popular and expensive fishes in Ghana.

The man on the left leaned against the wall after following us five "obrunis" (which roughly translates to white person, or foreigner) through the festival. This was one of the first tattoos I have seen on a Ghanaian. As well if you look closer there seems to be some type of branding on his shoulder. Beside him a young boy who emerged from the other side of the wall after climbing nearly 10-feet.

While attending the The Bakatue Festival near the Elmina slave castle along Cape Coast, amongst the chaos I found a young girl crouching by a wall by herself. With no parents in sight I was curious to know why she was alone during the heat of the day at a crowded festival.

Two young girls walked the streets leading away from the Elmina slave castle. Arms intertwined, they walked alone weaving in and out through the crowds of people celebrating the Bakatue festival. Wearily they looked upon us five foreigners in curiosity.

Adinkra Cloth hand stamped by our Media in Ghana group. Each symbol holds its own symbolism and the black ink is made from the bark of a tree.
